AI Engineer for Voice Agent and Automated Follow-Up System

We are looking for an experienced AI engineer to build and deploy production-ready AI voice agents and automated follow-up systems. ** This is not a prototype or learning project — only apply if you have real, hands-on implementation experience with the tools listed below. Project Scope You will design and implement a AI phone agents using VAPI, integrated with GoHighLevel (GHL) End-to-end workflow: A customer calls a designated phone number, the appropriate agent answers the call The VAPI AI agent answers and conducts a natural conversation Call output is processed into: Conversation summary Intent + qualification signals The system automatically: Creates or updates a lead in GHL Stores call summary, tags, and metadata After the call: Triggers intelligent SMS workflows via GHL Handles objections, booking nudges, and next-step follow-ups This system must operate reliably and consistently, not “mostly works.” Required Skills (Non-Negotiable) Proven experience building VAPI voice agents / call flows Strong VAPI + GHL expertise Hands-on GoHighLevel API integration (contacts, conversations, SMS) Backend engineering in Python or Node.js Webhooks, async processing, and API orchestration Clean, maintainable, and well-documented code and prompting Nice to Have (Bonus Experience) Call transcription + summarization pipelines Prompt engineering for conversational agents CRM automation beyond GHL Prior deployment of AI systems in production Deliverables Fully functioning VAPI voice agent GHL integration including: Lead create/update logic Call summaries and tagging Automatic SMS follow-up triggers Setup + deployment documentation Short demo / walkthrough upon completion How to Apply (Read Before Submitting) To be considered, please include: Your direct experience with VAPI (specific examples) A brief outline of how you would architect this system Links or summaries of similar AI / voice / automation projects Your availability, estimated timeline and proposed budget Generic or copy-paste proposals will be ignored.
